Does your tracking actually work?

Enter your URL and get a tracking health report in about a minute: whether Google Tag Manager loads, how long your cookies survive, whether consent mode is wired correctly, and what tracking costs you in page speed. Free, no signup.

One page is scanned, once. Results are cached for 24 hours. How the scanner works.

How it works

Step 1

Enter your URL

Any publicly accessible page. The homepage is a good start; for a shop, try a product page too.

Step 2

We load it like a visitor

A real Chrome browser loads the page once and records which tracking scripts run, which cookies get set, and what fires before consent.

Step 3

You get a score

Four categories: tag setup, consent, data durability, and performance. Weighted into one overall score, nothing hidden.

Step 4

Every finding comes with a fix

Plain-language explanations with step-by-step fixes and the score improvement each one is worth.

What we check

Tag setup

Does your GTM container actually load, and exactly once? Is there a dataLayer with real content? Duplicate containers and double GA4 configs are the most common silent data-killers.

Consent

Is Consent Mode v2 configured, and does the default fire before the container? A banner without consent signals fails at both compliance and data quality.

Data durability

How long do your tracking cookies survive Safari's 7-day cap? Can ad blockers take out your container? This is where most sites silently lose 20-40% of their data.

Performance

What do your tracking scripts cost in load time and main-thread blocking, measured with PageSpeed Insights.

Built for WordPress

If your site runs WordPress, the report goes deeper: which GTM plugin loads your container, whether a cache or consent plugin is interfering with the snippet, what your dataLayer actually contains, and (on WooCommerce stores) whether e-commerce events fire. No other tracking checker reads WordPress this way.

Common questions

Is it really free?

Yes. No signup, no email, no trial. The report is yours, including a shareable link.

What exactly do you scan?

One page, once, in a headless Chrome browser. We record network requests, cookies, and the dataLayer. No crawling, no form input, no interaction with your site. Details on the scanner page.

Will the scan affect my site or my analytics?

The scan is a single page load. It identifies itself with the GTMKitChecker user agent, so you can filter or block it. It doesn’t accept your cookie banner, so it won’t distort consent stats.

My performance score differs from PageSpeed Insights. Why?

It is PageSpeed Insights, and PageSpeed scores vary run to run. The tracking findings (script weight, blocking time) come from our own scan and are stable.

Why does my report say my cookies expire in 7 days?

Cookies set by JavaScript are capped at 7 days in Safari. Here’s what that means and how to fix it.

Do you work on non-WordPress sites?

Yes. Every site gets the full tracking, cookie, consent, and performance analysis. The WordPress-specific section simply doesn’t apply elsewhere.

Who can see my report?

Anyone with the link. Report URLs are unlisted, excluded from search engines, and deleted after 12 months. Site owners can request removal.

My score is low. Now what?

Every finding in the report links to a step-by-step fix. Do the fixes, hit re-scan, watch the score move. That’s the point.
